Samsung Galaxy S6 vs. Apple iPhone 6 Plus

People nowadays are having a lot of confusion as to what kind of phones and gadgets to buy. One of the most "talked about" phones are the Samsung Galaxy S6 and Apple iPhone 6 Plus where in many people are comparing them. Well, a lot of people are in favor of Samsung Galaxy S6 here in the Philippines but not to mention that in other countries, almost people prefer Apple iPhone 6 Plus.

So I am gonna help you today how to choose. I'm not gonna tell you "what" to choose, rather help you understand and relay to you some information that you should know about these phones before you decide which to buy.
  • Body

First we get to look at how these phones look like. What are the dimensions, thickness and such. Samsung Galaxy S6 is 5.1" in height and it weights 138g. As for the Apple iPhone 6 Plus, it is a bit taller than that of Samsung Galaxy S6 which has a height of 5.5". It's also heavier with a weight of 172g. Apple iPhone 6 Plus is also thicker where it's thickness is 7.1mm while the Samsung Galaxy S6 is 6.8mm. The difference of the two is not that big though because when you look at them, the sizes and dimensions are just proportional.

Both phones uses nano-SIM and has a fingerprint sensor so no difference this time.

  • Display

Both uses a capacitive touchscreen but the difference is that  Samsung Galaxy S6 uses Super Amoled while Apple iPhone 6 Plus uses LED-backlit IPSLCD. Both displays pretty good though since they both are 16M colors. Both are multi touch.

Even though Apple iPhone 6 Plus is bigger than Samsung Galaxy S6, Apple iPhone 6 Plus has lesser resolution which is 1080x1920 comapred to the Samsung Galaxy S6's 1440x2560.

  • Memory

It's not really surprising that both phones do not support a memory card slot unlike some other smartphones but what's amazing is that their internal storage is really enormous. Samsung Galaxy S6 has 32 GB, 64 GB and 128GB depending on what kind of Samsung Galaxy S6 you buy. On the other hand, Apple iPhone 6 Plus has 16 GB, 64 GB, and 128 GB. Does not really have a big difference though.

  • Camera

Most people consider the camera specs of phones first since many social media sites have been influencing people to take more pictures and documentaries and such. Samsung Galaxy S6's primary camera is 16MP while it's secondary camera which is the front cam, is 5MP while Apple iPhone 6 Plus is MP on it's primary camera and 1.2MP on the secondary camera. They differ a lot but I wanted to tell you that the MP of both cameras cannot really be compared because they have different features and resolution but at the end, both really does support a very clear images and videos.

Both have LED flash, auto-focus, Geo-tagging, face detection and touch focus. You just need to compare how they took image in different kinds of lighting and such which is already beyond this article but to help you, you can search it on Google.

  • Battery

Smartphone have been really bad when talking about batteries because while the user is not doing anything on the phone, there are a lot of applications which are working on background so the phone is still working on it's memory.

Which of them will last longer?

On standby, Samsung Galaxy S6's battery depends on how many, how large and what type your applications are since many apps will work on background even they are not used. As to the Apple iPhone 6 Plus, it can lasts for 384 h. If you normally use calls everyday, every hour or every minute, Samsung Galaxy S6 will last for 17 h while Apple iPhone 6 Plus will last for 24 h. On music play, Samsung Galaxy S6 has 49 h while Apple iPhone 6 Plus has 80 h.

Clearly, Apple iPhone 6 Plus lasts longer than Samsung Galaxy S6. Even on using different types of apps, Apple iPhone 6 Plus does have a longer life.

  • Other Features

GPS, Bluetooth, WLAN, USB, both support these features. As for downloading and installing applications, Samsung Galaxy S6 uses Samsung Apps and also supports the usage of Google Play Store. For Apple iPhone 6 Plus, since it is supported by the apple company, you can download and buy apps on the iTunes which is also run by the Apple company.

For their operating system, Samsung Galaxy S6 is an Android phone while iOS8 is the OS for the Apple iPhone 6 Plus. Though android can be personalized and has a lot of features on it where you can explore, Apple iPhone 6 Plus is somewhat limited compare to android.

  • Conclusion

Both are a high quality product which really do not differ except on their batteries and OS. For my personal choice, I will choose Samsung Galaxy S6 because I'm an android fan. But it depends on the person if where he or she is more comfortable. If one like to personalize and wants to have a wide variety kinds of apps, then Samsung Galaxy S6 would be a better choice. If one just likes a simple, less complicated and just use the phone for camera and some business, Apple iPhone 6 Plus is good. As a final say, the choice depends on the preference of a person.
